About Us

As founder and chief developer and someone who is willing to stand behind their product, you have a real person behind MindSpa you can talk to. How often do you see that these days? The number one question people ask is if I use the technology. Yes, sure! I started using this technology as far back as 1990 and have used it regularly ever since.

MindSpa is a training tool. What experience has taught me is that over the months and years of regular use, as your brain becomes more accustomed to entering the alert, yet relaxed alpha state, it becomes second nature. This is particularly true when in normally stressful and uncomfortable situations – it is easier to enter and maintain a state where you feel confident and grounded and better able to handle situations.

That is what is so great about MindSpa – it is not doing something to you. It is working with you to ultimately allow you to lead a better quality life. My goal is for you to have better sleep and more joy, happiness, balance and contentment out of life, even when life is not perfect.

The most difficult thing is to get people on the Internet to believe you. I try to build credibility by posting our many wonderful customer comments, and by being totally factual without excess claims like so many others. I also try to make it easy for you by saying, give MindSpa up to three months and if it does not meet your expectations, return it for any reason for a complete refund. We are one of the few companies to offer such a guarantee free of any gimmicks. And it works for our customers! I am happy to report nearly none are ever returned.

A/V Stim was established in 2002 with the release of our first MindSpa version. Since then we have worked tirelessly to continually improve and upgrade our products. As the chief product developer, I bring over 37 years of corporate retail management, marketing and product development experience to MindSpa.

I entered the field of auditory/visual stimulation (AVS) two decades ago, starting at a time when this technology was in its infancy. I became fascinated with biofeedback, but quickly understood its limitations. When I discovered the early versions of these light and sound devices, I decided to become part of this industry.

The early machines were very expensive, complicated to use, and customer support was lacking. I set out on a long journey toward my goal to develop the best, most effective device available and make it easy for anyone to use. I am happy to say that we deliver on that goal.

I have been fortunate to work with and learn from many of the brightest, most experienced experts in the fields of chronotherapy, psychology and neurotechnology. We bring a combined total of several decades of experience. We share a deep belief in this technology's ability to help people in numerous ways. This is evident in the quality and effectiveness of our products as nearly none are ever returned. Our years of dedication to helping people improve their quality of life are a testament to our commitment to our customers in over 60 countries.

On a personal level I do more than just make suggestions and follow the advice we offer on our website. I stay active, including regular daily exercise. I watch my weight and try to eat quality foods. The question I get most often is do I use MindSpa myself? Yes, of course! As a regular MindSpa user over many years, it has made a big difference in my life.

I am happy to say I feel great for my 59 years by just trying to do the right things. You will find these very recommendations on our website and in our manuals. A word about other personal improvement products…

There are many products on the Internet making similar claims to MindSpa. Some of these products appear to use technology similar to ours, many others use sound only, and still others use different methods. A number of these products are well presented but unfortunately are based on hype, exaggerated claims and empty promises. When considering products that claim to help you in some way, there are three basic things to always look for:

1. Who are the people behind the product?
2. What science do they offer to back up their claims?
3. How long have they been in business?

Fortunately, you can quickly find answers to these questions in the about us section of most websites. The vast majority of high quality companies provide this information. This will save you a lot of time and wasted expense on junk products. Just read past the claims and pretty pictures.

Community Involvement

I am a strong believer in the value of community service both as an individual and as a good corporate citizen by devoting a significant percentage of time giving back to my community through non-profit activities. I have been actively serving on various boards and public committees now for over two decades.

I currently serve as president of the Tamalpais Conservation Club ( www.tamaplais.org ) for a third two-year term. My commitment to non-profit work is a reflection of personal character, which carries over to the character and integrity of our company and our products in our goal to make a positive difference.
